EMG Solicitors celebrates second year in Darlington
Posted: 15th April 2025
In the two short years since EMG Solicitors opened its Darlington office in Coniscliffe House, the award-winning law firm has quickly established itself as an important and valued part of the community. Putting their people and clients at the very forefront of its work has fueled their growth and reputation in the town.
The firm provides a full range of legal services from Court of Protection to residential conveyancing and family law. Alongside their client work they also remain committed to supporting a number of local charities and continue to champion major events and initiatives taking place in the area, including Darlington Borough Council’s upcoming summer events.
Sarah Jackson’s thoughts
Sarah Jackson, Director at EMG Solicitors, has headed up the Darlington office since it opened in 2023. From Darlington herself, Sarah has seen how the company’s commitment to supporting local people and causes has helped grow the law firm’s offering and firmly cemented its place within the community.
“When we first opened the Darlington office, we started with just one Court of Protection team,” said Sarah. “Now we’re able to offer our full range of services; from conveyancing and family law, through to wills, trusts, and probate.
“Having a base here in the town has meant we’re able to showcase the breadth of what we do as a law firm. With the opportunity to see our clients in person really strengthening our relationships and one of the reasons we continue to expand and grow in Darlington.”
Since opening in January 2023 with six colleagues, EMG Solicitors now has a headcount of 14 at its Darlington office; many of whom are from the local area. Creating employment opportunities has always been an important part of EMG’s growth plan, and the firm now has 175 colleagues across its five offices in the North (Durham, Newcastle, Darlington, Penrith and Manchester).
Looking ahead to the next two years in Darlington, EMG Solicitors is planning to continue to grow its service offering; expanding the help and support it provides.
“We’ve seen a big increase in demand for many of the services we specialise in at EMG,” said Sarah. “As part of our family law work, which includes our divorce and mediation services, we are now able to offer a new ‘one solicitor’ service which enables us to represent both parties at once. Not only is it proving popular, but it also makes for a much more seamless and cost-effective process for our clients.
Our residential conveyancing team has grown considerably too, and they’ve built strong connections with local agents, clients, housebuilders and developers. We’re also seeing more people come to us for our award-winning Court of Protection work.”
EMG in the community
EMG Solicitors is also continuing their connections with local charities, community organisations and other initiatives that provide care and support to people living in the local area. This year the firm is supporting several Darlington Borough Council events, including World Cultural Day and Making Sense Together Day.
Making a positive and significant contribution to the local communities where it works is a core pledge of EMG Solicitors, and through its EMG Community Fund, the law firm donates 5% of its profits in the form of charitable grants through Point North; supporting local organisations in Darlington and across the North of England. EMG is also a Certified B Corporation, an accreditation that recognises the firm’s ongoing commitment to their people, clients and their positive impact on the environment and society.
Sarah continued: “We’re incredibly proud to be a company from the North and we welcome any opportunity to celebrate our great region and its people. 2025 is going to be a big year for Darlington and we’re looking forward to joining in the festivities with everyone.
“Personally, I’m so proud of our growth and the strong relationships we continue to develop with our people and clients. Working and living in such a fantastic town as Darlington is something I’m incredibly grateful for. It’s wonderful to see the area thrive and be able to support the community in the way that we do at EMG.”
EMG Solicitors’ Darlington office is based towards the east end of Coniscliffe Road within Coniscliffe House. As a business that firmly believes in supporting the community and keeping clients at the heart of its work, its doors are always open to anyone that needs help or advice with any legal matter.
