EMG’s Darlington Team Go From Strength to Strength

Posted: 2nd April 2024

It’s been 15 months since EMG Solicitors opened its doors in Darlington back in January 2023 and in that time, it’s gone from strength to strength.

The team which are based at Coniscliffe House on Coniscliffe Road has doubled in size from six to 12 since the office opened. Offering a full range of legal services including Residential Conveyancing, Wills Trust and Probate, Litigation, Family Law and Mediation, Court of Protection (COP) and Commercial Property.

The Darlington branch continues to be a great addition to EMG’s growing portfolio in Durham, Newcastle, Penrith and Manchester, demonstrating the strength and breadth of the brand’s growing reputation in the legal sector. This has been recognised by their prestigious award win at The Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards for Private Client Firm of the Year 2024 earlier this month.

The Darlington office is led by Law Society accredited Court of Protection Director and Solicitor, Sarah Jackson, who has over 14 years of knowledge in COP Health & Welfare work. A specialism that looks after the best interests of vulnerable clients in areas including accommodation, care and support.

Sarah Jackson, Court of Protection Director, said:

“It really has been an incredible 15 months since the office launch. When we first opened the branch, we started with a small group of us carrying out Court of Protection Health and Welfare work but have since grown substantially to provide a full-service offering.

We are so lucky to have such a fantastic team who provide an excellent service in conveyancing, family, Wills, trusts and probate and commercial property. The culture at EMG is client centric and people focused. We have a vision to be the best we can be, and we all work together to achieve just that. The support we give to each other, and clients is second to none.

Our values remain central to everything we do, shaping the way we work, and we continue to serve a wide client base in Darlington and the surrounding areas. Priding ourselves on being different to other law firms, I really do believe we offer something unique that wasn’t previously available in the town or community.”

It’s not just legal work for EMG Solicitors. True to the company’s values, they remain committed to charitable giving as demonstrated by their partnership with the County Durham Community Foundation. A collaboration which has seen the business donate over £75,000 to local causes across the region since 2019.

When asked about the future, Sarah adds:

“I’m so proud of what the team has achieved so far and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in the not-too-distant future. Our aim will be to continue to offer an unrivalled standard of service, building on the foundations we have laid and growing our service offering to meet the demands of the local community.”

Emma Gaudern, Managing Director of EMG Solicitors, said:

“Sarah and the whole team at Darlington are doing a wonderful job. Our COP specialism continues to be one of our core strengths as a business which is reinforced by the fantastic work Sarah and the team continue to deliver.

Great client feedback and happy colleagues delivering great levels of service is our biggest reward at EMG but being recognised independently too through our Legal 500 award win has been very special. Winning the Private Client Firm of the Year 2024 has been a bit of a pinch me moment to be honest, especially seeing as the firm only reached its tenth anniversary this year.

The growth of the office is testament to their success and the ongoing value they are providing for our clients.”
