Leading law firm, EMG Solicitors, has achieved Continuing Excellence status of the Better Health at Work Award, which recognises the efforts of employers in the North East and Cumbria.
Having previously achieved the Gold Award in 2022, EMG Solicitors has now been recognised for continuing to maintain high standards in promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace, providing colleagues with access to health resources and encouraging healthy lifestyles. The firm was applauded for its efforts in creating a positive and engaging workplace culture where health inequalities are reduced.
EMG’s efforts include providing colleagues with workshops on resilience, sleep and biological wellbeing, as well as access to various wellbeing apps and an Employee Assistance Programme. A Health & Wellbeing working group was created last year, which consists of six individuals from across the firm, who collaboratively introduce and promote health initiatives to support their 140 colleagues.
Ian Burke, Head of People & Culture, said:
“Our investment in workshops and support tools within the firm demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting our colleague’s wellbeing and creating a great working environment across our five offices. Providing a quality service for our clients is a priority and we achieve this by investing in our people.”
Olivia Bennington, People & Culture Advisor and a representative in the EMG Health and Wellbeing working group said:
“We are delighted to have achieved this award. As a team it gives us a great sense of pride and showcases our health and wellbeing agenda. The initiatives we run are positively received by our colleagues and we look forward to starting this new year with a new agenda!”
