Settlement Agreements

When it comes to Settlement Agreements, EMG has extensive experience in drafting agreements for our employer clients. This unique perspective allows us to thoroughly analyse the offers contained in Settlement Agreements that are offered to individuals who may have potential claims against their employers. Our goal is to ensure that your interests are protected while also safeguarding your employer from any future claims arising from your employment.

We provide two levels of service to cater to your specific needs:

Deal Assessment and Negotiation

If you are seeking advice on the fairness and adequacy of the settlement offer, our team of experts can analyse the offer, discuss all the circumstances surrounding your case with you, and provide a comprehensive written assessment. We will advise you on how to respond to the offer and can even negotiate different terms on your behalf. Our fees for this service are based on the time spent working on your case.

Independent Adviser Consultation

For those who simply require advice from an independent adviser on the nature and effect of the agreement, we can usually provide this service within a day or two of receiving your instructions. Our fixed fee for this service is determined based on the time associated with providing advice, as well as the value of the termination payment offered in most Settlement Agreements. It is customary for your employer to contribute towards your legal fees, usually at least £250 plus VAT.

At EMG, we understand that navigating the terms and implications of a Settlement Agreement can be complex and overwhelming. That’s why our team is dedicated to providing clear and concise advice tailored to your specific circumstances. We have a wealth of experience in handling Settlement Agreements and can guide you through the process, ensuring that your rights and interests are protected.
