Wills, Trusts & Probate
Everyone should have a Will. It gives you certainty over who will administer your estate and, more importantly, who will benefit from it. A Will can be as simple or as complex as you need it to be.
We specialise in creating the solution that meets all your needs and we provide you with a fixed fee quote so that you know exactly where you stand from the beginning.
Why should I use a solicitor to draft a Will or create a trust?
Our Wills, Trusts, and Probate team, led by firm Director, Samantha Edward, will make sure you have an expertly drafted, valid Will or trust which reflects your wishes and strategy for providing for loved ones after you die. We listen carefully and document meticulously, ensuring your wishes regarding property, assets, children, pets, and treasured possessions are followed.
We can also advise on broader issues such as dealing with the proceeds of life insurance and pension policies in the most tax-efficient manner. Many people (and their advisors) forget all about the planning opportunities offered by these assets and can end up paying thousands of pounds of unnecessary inheritance tax. We can help you review your current and potential future assets and decide whether you need to undertake further planning to minimise the inheritance tax that will be payable upon your death.
All of our Wills are prepared in full compliance with the STEP Will Writing Code, which is a framework developed by the Society of Trusts, so you can be confident that we always follow best practice. Click here to read the ‘STEP Will Writing code’.

Can’t I manage probate myself?
Few people realise how complicated and time-consuming Executor’s duties are. Furthermore, mistakes in obtaining probate and/or administering an estate can lead to destructive family disputes and leave the Executor personally liable if a claim is commenced in court. By entrusting us to advise and represent you, you can be confident that your duties as an Executor are performed correctly.
Can you help me if I am dealing with an intestacy?
Discovering your loved one died without making a Will or their Will is invalid adds further stress to an already difficult time. Samantha and her team will take the worry off your shoulders and will advise and represent you in appointing an administrator and ensure you are fully aware of how the rules of intestacy will apply to any property and assets.
