Alexandra Lynas

Paralegal

Job Role at EMG

I joined EMG Solicitors in January 2023 and I am a Paralegal at the firm in our Court of Protection Health & Welfare team. The majority of my current work involves supporting my colleagues in representing and providing advice to clients who have been assessed as lacking capacity to make decisions for themselves, particularly in relation to their care and residence. My workload also involves visiting our clients to obtain their wishes and feelings, to ensure their views are properly represented at Court.

Experience

I studied my undergraduate Law degree at Teesside University and graduated with a First Class in 2020. Following this, I completed my masters in Law together with the Legal Practice Course at Sunderland University and graduated in 2021 with a First Class. From March 2021, I began working in the Legal Sector as a Legal Clerk part-time in the Court of Protection area whilst completing my degree, before becoming full-time in June 2021.

What do you like about working at EMG?

EMG is a very friendly and supportive firm to work for. Everyone is approachable and extremely supportive, and everyone wishes to see each other do well and succeed.

Outside of EMG?

In my free time outside of EMG I like to socialise with friends/family and go on walks with my dog Lottie. I love travelling and being on holiday and I hope to continue visiting new places in the upcoming years!
