Trainee Legal Cashier

Job Role at EMG

I am a trainee Legal Cashier at the firm and joined EMG in November 2024. I spend my time working in our Finance department dealing primarily with the “client side” of legal cashiering and driving forward better working practices for both finance and fee earning staff members.

Experience

I came to the Northeast to study Psychology at Durham University. Following this I took on a role in a call centre dealing with financial transactions, which I did for around a year. This role is my first job in a legal setting, and I look forward to a big learning curve. Prior to university, I worked a summer job at the beach huts in my local seaside town which I did for 7 years, with the perk of free ice-cream.

What do you like about working at EMG?

Everyone at EMG is extremely approachable, despite their busy workloads. There is a real emphasis on understanding and people are great at explaining complex concepts. I also feel like there is great transparency where every staff member is included, and feedback is encouraged. I feel EMG really value their employees.

Outside of EMG?

In my free time I enjoy crocheting and have recently begun preparations to make cute plush toys. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family watching movies and chatting. I like to get abroad when I can and plan on going to Florida in September 2025.
