Lauren Gray

Trainee Legal Executive

Job Role at EMG

I am a Trainee Legal Executive in the Court of Protection Team and joined EMG in September 2024. My role involves assisting Panel and Professional Deputies with the management of clients’ finances. I act on behalf of clients who have brain injuries, learning disabilities, dementia and other mental health conditions and who lack capacity to manage their own finances. My role is varied; one day I could be assisting with the purchase of property for a client and the next day I could be carrying out investigations regarding financial abuse committed against a client.

Experience

Before joining EMG, I worked for a large law firm in Newcastle for 14 years. I began my career as a Legal Secretary in the Wills Department before becoming a Paralegal in 2016 in the Court of Protection Team.

What do you like about working at EMG?

Everyone at EMG is very friendly, supportive and helpful. It is a very welcoming place to work

Outside of EMG?

I am very much a family person and in my free time I spend time with my partner and our young son, which mainly involves going to parks and softplays. I also enjoy exercising when I find the time.
