Neale Pardey

People & Culture Manager

Job Role at EMG

I am the People & Culture Manager here at EMG, supporting the business in its plans for growth by utilising the technology we have in the HR system we use. This includes recruitment, CPD, performance management and general utilisation. This is in addition to getting to know the fabulous people we have in our teams, so they have a name and a face they can connect with alongside my fantastic colleagues Gloria & Ian.

Experience

I have an ecliptic mix of experience within People & Culture as well as operations management, in sectors such as outsourcing, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, on-line gaming, audit technology, charity, traditional engineering, educational technology and education itself.

In addition to this I have invested in my academic side, through studying for my Honours degree in Business & HRM, CIPD Level 3, Masters in HR and a PGCE in Primary Studies. The latter working on the theory of how behaviour management strategies in the classroom, can be used in the workplace.

What do you like about working at EMG?

Being of an age where I can concentrate on my career now the children have grown up and worked throughout COVID I am in the fortunate position to look for roles that sit with my own values. Here at EMG our 5 values very much sit within my outlook of my profession, something I am very passionate about.

Everyone at EMG is extremely approachable, despite their busy workloads. And in the short time I have been here, everyone genuinely wants to see me and the P&C team do well and succeed in our support to them.

Outside of EMG?

Outside of EMG I am a huge cat lover with 7 cats, one of which (Tinkerbell) has joined the family in the last week.

I love cycling and have a collection of road and mountain bikes. When the cycling weather isn’t around, I love to read, with WW2 fiction being my chosen genre. I also have a classic car, which we have owned from new and is now 30 years old.

More recently I have also started to learn to play the drums, and although I think I am not making any head way with, my instructor seems to think I have a natural approach to it and Christine my wife says I have started to sound like I know what I am doing.
