Richard Linfoot

Digital Marketing Executive

Job Role at EMG

I joined EMG as a Digital Marketing Assistant in September 2018. My duties include assisting the Head of Business Development – Claire Hewitt with marketing related tasks, both digital and traditional, to further the EMG brand. I monitor and maintain the company’s digital space including the website and social media, updating the backend website and coordinating with developers to implement new features. In addition to digital work I liaise with designers as well as printers to create new promotional material. I also design materials for marketing purposes such as flyers, brochures, programmes and print adverts mainly using Adobe Suite software – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

Experience

After leaving sixth form I started a Digital Marketing apprenticeship with a North East based retailer acting nationally. During this time, I learnt how to successfully manage a business’ online presence and market their brand effectively. I managed social media marketing as well as PPC campaigns. Part of my role was to coordinate an ecommerce site which involved managing orders, postings and returns. I also worked within the showroom interreacting with customers and talking through selling points of specific items. This helped me further my personable skills along with interacting with designers, suppliers and shop customers. I worked closely with the Managing Director on other key projects and assisted the company in their partnership with the children’s charity, Make A Wish UK.

What do you like about working at EMG?

I like working within a team whether that be EMG as a whole or my individual department. The culture and sense of community is great, and I’d be lying if I said the staff socials don’t help.

Outside of EMG?

I love a good night out with friends where you can find my embarrassingly poor dance moves!
