Job Role at EMG
I am the Credit Control Manager at the firm and joined EMG in November 2023. I am responsible for effectively managing and controlling the process of payment for all services provided by EMG. I work within the finance team and liaise with all departments and clients to ensure a positive client experience throughout the entire process.
Experience
I have many years’ experience in several different industries and businesses, large and small, working in both sales and finance functions. I started my career in credit management and finance 22 years ago and have worked within credit control function for a variety of businesses in manufacturing, retail and B2B services with expertise in developing and improving credit control processes in small, fast growing, ambitious businesses. I enjoy working in a fast paced environment in a client focused way which allows me to use the skills I have built up over the years. Although this is my first role in a law firm it is proving to be a very positive experience it is an exciting and varied new challenge.
What do you like about working at EMG?
Everyone at EMG is extremely approachable and supportive, despite their busy workloads. Everyone genuinely wants to see you do well. The Finance team is a great team to be part of. It’s very busy and hard working but you feel listened to, you feel like you are part of a family, and your contribution is valued. It’s just a lovely balance of professionalism, friendliness, and humour.
Outside of EMG?
In my free time I enjoy walking my Bichon Frise called Tilly. I love getting together with friends and family at the weekend, usually eating out with a glass or two of wine after a bit of girly shopping. Other than that, there is always plenty to do around the house and garden. I have a particular passion for interior design, I have reupholstered chairs and stools and my last project was to silver leaf a roll top bath. You’ll often find me with a paint brush in hand even if it’s just a touch up.
