Samantha Hind
Senior Associate Solicitor
Job Role at EMG
I joined EMG in December 2024 as a Senior Associate in the COP P&A team. I deal with all elements of court of protection work, deputyship appointments, personal injury trusts, statutory wills and advising lay deputies. My niche and expertise is litigation support and working with individuals with acquired brain injury as a result of negligence.
I am really passionate about improving lives for clients and their families. I pride myself on providing an honest, open, transparent service and helping my clients to find practical solutions.
Experience
I qualified as a solicitor in July 2013 with nearly two years’ experience in Court of Protection, so I have been doing this type of work for a long time. In fact, our very own Ruth Wright was my Training Principal back in the day (showing both our ages now).
Shortly after qualifying, I joined a firm that did not have a dedicated Court of Protection team so whilst building a client base, I assisted with quantum work on clinical negligence matters, hence my knowledge and experience in this area.
I am proud to say that some of my current clients have been with me since I was a trainee solicitor.
What do you like about working at EMG?
I love the ethos at EMG, everybody that works here is so friendly and as soon as you meet them you feel like you have known them for years.
There are a lot of law firms that can deliver a service and deliver it well, but not many have kindness as a core value and invest so much time and effort into people, charity and communities like EMG do.
Outside of EMG?
I have two small children (with very different interests) that keep me on my toes, so I will either be crafting at the dining table or rescuing my son from running in front of the zipwire at the park.
On the very few occasions I do get time to myself, I like to cook (with red wine in hand), work out and have recently started a paint by numbers (that I think is going to take me two years to complete at my current pace).
