Stephanie Rodgers TEP

Senior Associate Solicitor

Job Role at EMG

I am a Senior Associate Solicitor at EMG and joined the firm at the start of 2022. I work in the Wills, Trusts and Probate Team in the Gosforth Office and I provide comprehensive and expert advice to clients on all aspects of private client work.

I advise a wide range of clients in relation to their inheritance tax and estate planning, including advising on and drafting Wills and lifetime planning. I also advise clients on the administration of estates, assisting with applications for Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration and advising on other matters relating to the administration, such as the preparation of Deeds of Variation. My practice also includes advising on both the preparation of and on-going administration of Trusts of various types and for a range of purposes, including as part of estate planning, to protect assets and utilise available tax reliefs. I provide advice to clients on capacity matters such as the preparation of General Powers of Attorney, the preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship applications.

I graduated from Edinburgh University with an MA in Politics and International Relations in 2009 and then obtained my Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York. I trained as a solicitor at a large regional firm in Newcastle, where I qualified into the private client department there in 2013 and practiced there for several years. More recently I moved to London to work in the private client department of a top 100 firm, before returning to the North East this year.

I am a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

What do you like about working at EMG?

One of the things which attracted me to EMG was the firm’s genuine desire to support clients and help them achieve their aims in instructing the firm, whatever those aims may be. This strong focus on clients and providing a high-quality service to them reflects what I consider to be important about my job.

Outside of EMG?

I can be found running round after my little girl, which keeps me very busy, and planning my next holiday to explore a new country. I also enjoy cooking, live comedy and lovely long walks in the country with my family.
