Victoria Aithwaite

Conveyancing Assistant

Job Role at EMG

I joined EMG solicitors in December 2020 as a conveyancing assistant. My main responsibility is assisting with post-completion matters, although I help the conveyancing team with other matters when needed to ensure the conveyancing process runs smoothly.

I graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2017 with a first-class honours in Law. I then went on to pass my LLM in Bar Professional Training with a Distinction before being called to the Bar in August 2018. I worked as a Solicitor’s Agent for around a year, attending Court in the North Eastern circuit, representing children in Infant Approval Hearings. In 2019 I began training to be a Law Costs Draftsman, specialising in Legal Aid family work, before making the move to EMG to be more directly involved in the legal field.

What do you like about working at EMG?

From the moment I walked into the office on my first day everyone was very friendly and welcoming, meaning I settled in really quickly. There’s a really supportive and relaxed atmosphere, and everyone is extremely approachable and ready to help, even when you join at a super busy time like I did!

Outside of EMG?

In my spare time I’m an archer at a club in Durham, shooting competitively, winning the Indoor County Championships in 2019. I’m also a Level 2 Coach, coaching in club and as part of the County coaching team coaching our juniors. I also like to spend time reading or curled up on the sofa watching TV with my boyfriend and our dog Bruno.
